Was given this info by my Uncle who works with Photographer Tillman Crane on the North Dakota Photo Workshop each year. This is a relaxing get together with all welcome and there is no charge for it. Hope some of you can make it. Should have posted earlier - missed the boat on that one.177134

Ninth Annual Photographers' Retreat

April 27 – 29, 2018 Johnstown Holiday Inn, Johnstown NY All Photographers Welcome! No registration fee to attend the retreat. Participants are responsible for transportation, food and lodging. Register

What is the Photographers’ Retreat? It is an opportunity for photographers to meet together over an unstructured weekend to talk with people who speak the same language, share work, take photographs and make new friends. How does it differ from a workshop or conference? There are no agendas, lectures or classroom teachers. At this retreat we all get to be students and we can all be teachers. This is an informal gathering and you may attend all or part of the weekend. There is no registration charge.

This year’s retreat will return to the Johnstown Holiday Inn. There is a restaurant and bar on the premises. Twenty (20) rooms have currently been reserved for the Photographer’s Retreat rate of $99.95 (+ taxes) per night but this rate is valid until one month before the retreat so reserve your room before March 30, 2018 to get the discount.

Reservations under: Tillman Crane Photographers Retreat Weekend

Friday evening we will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a "no host" dinner at a local restaurant followed by a get-together in one of the hotel's meeting rooms. Saturday morning is usually set aside for photographing in the area (Schoharie Crossing State Park, Palatine Church and the canal, modern and original). In the afternoon a room in the hotel is set aside for sharing individual work. Bring work to share if you want to, but it is not required. Saturday evening we will make reservations at a local restaurant for those wanting to eat as a group and then return to the hotel for an evening of print sharing and conversation.

You are not obligated to attend any of the "events". The intention of this weekend is simple: to give photographers a chance to make photographs and to meet, talk and share with other photographers their personal experiences of being a photographer.
To attend the retreat you need only do 2 things:

Make a hotel reservation for either the Johnstown Holiday Inn or another place of your choosing.
Complete the registration process. This way we can create a contact list as well as make plans for a meeting room and Friday night's dinner arrangements.

Invite your photographer friends along and let’s make this ninth annual event a wonderful opportunity for all of us! I look forward to seeing you in Johnstown.
