Has anyone successfully shortened the length of a roll of paper? There are very few rolls available for the Epson 4800 (4000) in the optimal 17" width. I've heard that some folks are shortening the 20" and 24"er's to 17".

Some paper manufacturers will cut rolls down for you. Hawk Mountain is one. They'll even take a 36" roll, for instance, or 44" roll, and cut it down to multiple 17" rolls for you.

Jeffrey, try www.eximvaios.com, look under Custom Cut Media. Also look under Epson Professinal Media for further selections.
We also cut 17" rolls from all of Epson's standard product line.

Ed, thanks for guiding me to your site. You've got what I need. You must have the 'real' machine that cuts and respools, as opposed to just cutting with a saw. Can you also just cut without respooling?
