Currently I use a "Wollensak Portrait Lens Series A. f-5. 6 1/2 x 8 1/2" lens on my whole plate camera. I love the Bokeh it produces at close (portrait) distances, but I keep on wanting to use it at longer distances to which it ceases to cover the whole plate format.

Can anyone out there recommend a Petzval optic that will cover whole plate at up to infinity?

thanks

How about a "Wollensak Portrait Lens Series A. f-5. 8x10"? Seems the natural choice if you like the shorter version.

I'm quite surprised A Wollensak Series A won't cover at infinity. Yours should be a 12" focal length. And be engraved 6 1/2 x 8 1/2. I have one....I'll put it on my 8x10 and see, and report back. There may be something wrong with your setup.

I'm pretty busy with work, and will take me a while. Greg, could you take a picture of your lens, the engraving around the front element? Also, have you measured the focal length.
