Questions about on-going auctions (especialy where value is implicit) get removed.

However, the set idea looks to be good and the lens quite reasonable! The seller is active here!

In a month from membership you could post a "wanted" advert here in a section you can't access until then!

I would think that you would want something that has a good reliable shutter. If you are going to shoot 4 x 5 a lens of approximately 210 mm to 240 should work well. There are a lot of very good 210 mm lenses for sale for less than $300 and if you shop around a bit you might even find a good one for under $200.00.

If your just doing portraits and not moving around a lot, a good used calumet 4 x 5 would work well and be cheap enough that you could also afford a halfway decent tripod and a light meter.

If you are going to make portrait photos on the street and sell them on the spot you need to use instant film (Impossible? Fuji?) or you need what's called an Afghan camera. The rig you've shown us is not an Afghan camera and can't use instant film. Educate yourself more before spending a kopeck.

I'd be weary to spend money on such an old camera for your first large format. They often have issues and need repairs and special handling. They can be a real joy to use and look at, but can also be a money pit of constant repairs. My first large format was a Sinar F1. It's new enough that reliability hasn't been an issue. My second large format was a Graflex Speed Graphic. It's quite a bit older and I've had to do a bunch of repairs to it to get it working properly. I enjoy that type of stuff, but after the cost of repairs, the Sinar F1 which was newer and more expensive to begin with, has actually proven to be cheaper in the long run.

That tripod would probably work if you don't plan on moving it around much. It looks bulky and heavy. That means it would be good for standing still in the wind, but would not be fun to transport very far or very often.

Also, are you planning on doing wet plate or film? With film, you'll probably need a shutter. So I'd look for a lens with a wide aperture, focal length of around 200-350mm, and a built in shutter. Plus it may be a good idea to get a lens hood and find a modern one with multicoating to help cut down on glare. If you're going to be shooting mostly outdoors, flare might be a persistent issue.

Also don't forget the film holders, dark cloth, light meter, and probably a focusing loupe. And any developing and processing equipment if you plan on doing that yourself. You might be best off starting with a book or something to figure out all of the little bits and pieces you need to go along with the camera. It's a lot more than just a body, lens, and tripod.

What Dan Fromm wrote. Re-read it.

Don't be sucked into looking like an old time street photographer by obsolete cameras and matching tripods. That's just Halloween comic material.

Here is a guy who does it very well (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Mendes), perhaps the best. Different camera. He is all personality.
