Myakka Park, near Sarasota, is finally in perfect dry condition for LF photographers, and the weather, too, is perfect. Another couple of months and the summer rains and mosquitos will take over.
An increbible plethora of White Oak trees in a jungle/swamp setting. I'd allow two days and one night local lodging.
Come on down (and then Yankees go home.)

And don't step on a snake.

Forget it!!!
I was just out there and more cars than I've ever seen were lined up at the entrance.

Plus, someone lost their pet cobra in Ocala and they don't know if it got out of its snake containment room or is outside! This is a small one, only about 2' long.
The one that got away before was a 15' king cobra. They found that one underneath someone's washing machine in Miami.

One of my favorite places when I lived Ft. Myers. Spent a few weekends in a tent there.

No problem with the cobra, I'm sure the pythons will have eaten it already,.

Thats fine but cobras eat snakes.

I don't think they could eat a python, though.

The Park is virtually underwater at present, although the main roads are still dry.
Come back in October.
