View Full Version : How to close up a Rittreck View camera?

16-Dec-2016, 09:05
I recently bought a nice 5x7 Rittreck View camera from the 1970s.....It took a few minutes for me to figure out how to even open it! I know, dumb ass. Now I cannot figure out how to fold it back close to travel with it.

Anybody know how?

I'll send you a PDF of the original instructions. Don't mess with it until you read them!

Please add me to the list! I`m a long time user but I still cannot figure how to use the micrometrical thing on the back!

Chauncey sent me the details some months ago. Clearly I am now a much happier Rittreck camper.

Are any of you that have the PDF still participating in the forum? I'd like to get a copy of it, please.

This is the manual Chauncey sent me a long time ago.

Thanks, Kumar. I'm trying to figure out if the Rittreck View might be the 5x7 camera I need since it can also shoot whole plate if I decide to go there some day. I'm hoping reading the manual will give me a hint as to whether I'd like working with it.

Of course, after that, there's the hard task of finding one with a 5x7 back on it.

Thanks for posting that, Kumar. Williaty, my Rittrech has both 5x7 and whole plate backs (among others). They are worth looking for. You'll love it.
