With all these comments in March, for those curious about how Death Valley looked, this spring,
I have posted images of

Wildflowers in Death Valley (Valley floor) (http://www.terragalleria.com/parks/np.death-valley.10.html) and

Wildflowers in the Ashford Mill area (South) of Death Valley (http://www.terragalleria.com/parks/np.death-valley.11.html). There are also some unusual pictures of the
Lake in Death Valley (http://www.terragalleria.com/parks/np.death-valley.9.html).
Those images are from digital 35mm. I managed in a few instances to create similar images in 5x7, but
winds were just too high most of the time. I did photograph the
Waves in Manly Lake (http://www.terragalleria.com/parks/np-image.deva32673.html)
with 5x7, right after a gentleman told me that it was too windy for large format photography, and that I was crazy. Despite it's apparent (relative) lack of rigidity, the wooden Canham yielded sharp exposures.
The color and texture
(actually more visible in this other
image of waves in Death Valley (http://www.terragalleria.com/parks/np-image.deva32675.html)) reminds me of sand ripples in Monument Valley.

Beautiful photographs! I never realized how interesting and mysterious(with the snow capped peaks in the background) a muddy lake could be until I treated to seeing it through your images. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing the wonderful images (and the very nice web presentation, too). The media reports of wall-to-wall tourists and fist fights at gas stations persuaded me to stay away. But after seeing your images, I wish I could have seen it first-hand.
