Exposed Film Storage

Excited to get my new 4x5 out and shoot this weekend. I am curious if anyone has a recommendation for storing exposed film until I can get back to my darkroom.

I'm going to do some backpacking and shoot a variety of "test" shots throughout the weekend. I'd like to do more exposures than I have film holders. I have a dark bag to change in the field.

Was thinking about some type of accordion style divider that would be light tight when closed (or stored in a light-tight bag/box). I am anticipating the answer is to buy more filter holders, but wanted to see if there's anything *new* in gear that I'm missing. :)

Eventually I'll build up a collection of 4x5 boxes, but in the meantime...here's what I'm thinking. Thoughts?

(understand I might introduce some scratches before scanning)

Another thought is to put the film back into the box, just outside the foil/bag containing unexposed film.

You can buy the lightproof black plastic bags that are used to wrap film / paper inside their boxes. See here for example: http://www.ag-photographic.co.uk/light-proof-black-bags-505-c.asp

I might try stashing the film in one of those bags, and putting it in something like a lunch box that is small and rigid enough not to let the film get buckled in a backpack.

I'm sure there are a million better options but that springs to mind :)

Your problem will be soon solved as you get (or generate) some empty film boxes to store exposed film in...

Ask a photo lab for some spares, or post on this site that you are looking for some, and see what turns up...

Halford - Thanks for the Delta 1 bags link. Never found that in my searches through B&H.

I know this problem will go away over time, so I'll try to solve it as soon as I can. ;)
