I have a show at the Loyola University Museum of Art, 820 N Michigan Ave, Chicago, running from April 2-July 23. It is composed of 37 images from Community Uprooted: Eminent Domain in the U.S. There will be an opening reception on April 12 from 5:30-7:30 preceded by a panel discussion at 4:30. There are also other events planned for the following months.

The Center for Urban Research and Learning at Loyola University has partnered with me on this project—they conducted numerous interviews with people in the 9 locations I photographed, which have added great depth and nuance to this work. The areas I worked in range from an inner city Boston neighborhood—which is a real success story—to the Dalles Dam on the Columbia River which destroyed the longest continuously inhabited site in North America (at least 10,000 years).

Eminent domain is being used in India extensively. Too far away for me to get there, but is there a way to get transcripts of the discussion?

Thank you all! I'm looking forward to seeing (and meeting) many of you.

Kumar, I don't think there are plans to record the discussion, but I'll check. It's an interesting idea.

If you have a smart phone with a QR Code reader you will be able to access audio recordings of people in the areas I photographed speaking about their experiences with eminent domain. LUMA has a strict no cell phone policy, but they are waiving it for this exhibit.

Is the QR delivered by WIFI or Cellular tower.

I only use an iPod. Which only has WIFI.

Good question—I believe it's WIFI, but I'll verify that.

I'll be happy to do that. It is an interesting project and the back stories are nuanced and complex—should make for a good class.

And thank you both Steves for your kind wishes!

That would be good because every morning I awake I have to look at my ID to know who I am.

Randy,

I just heard from LUMA and the word is that WiFi does not work very well in the galleries, and that if you are not affiliated with Loyola it is difficult to log into their guest service. So, I guess it's cell phones only. You can always borrow mine.

Thanks Richard. I will be satisfied without, as I try to embrace Art by what it provides without props.
