Can anyone recommend a source for a knob like the one pictured?
It's from a tripod head

Ace hardware stores have similar knobs. So should other hardware chains.

For sure. Even Ace Hardware carries those in chrome plated steel. That's where I got mine.

Just take the tripod into a hard ware store and the first person you see that show then the stud and tell then you need a knob that will fit on the stud.

Yes, and good hardware store people really appreciate being able to choose the right part, and maybe suggest the customer buy some Loktite at the same time. Which prompts me to wonder why more manufacturers of knobs for heavy duty use do not use crush threads.
