I'm thinking about getting one of these but have some questions. I have enough height for the column but only a couple on inches above is it. I'm wondering how low the baseboard will lower. If I can't raise the head lowering the table will have the same effect although may not be as handy. What lenses will work and what size prints can I expect from my 8x10 negatives? Thanks, Terry

You can lower the baseboard pretty much to the bottom, around 12" off the floor. I keep my baseboard up around 30", and have 47" to the negative state with the Dichroic head about 1/2" from the ceiling or around 4.5" above the top of the column. I have 5" from the top of the column to the ceiling. You can use lenses from 50 mm to 300 mm; I go up to 240 since there is no reason for the 300 plus the 240 will give you more magnification. The 5108 will allow 30x40 enlargements from all film sizes with the maximum lens for each format, so you can go a bit bigger from 8x10 with the 240 mm or 4x5 with the 135 & so on. It's a truly wonderful enlarger. L

This chart from the Durst-Pro website may give you some ideas. L

I do not own a 40mm lens? I barely ever use the 50 Apo Rodagon. When printing 135, I normally use the 80 mm Apo Rodagon. I've never printed larger than 11x14. You can read the Enlarger Specs on the KHB website as to what can be used on the enlarger. Now, do you really have that many negatives you want to print to 48 x 32"?????

The total height of your darkroom needs 2.65 m for the new 5108 at least.
I never met an older 5108.

Just remember to change the 4 ELH or ENH 6 monthly for even lighting
