I got a ATL-1000 with 220V. I am looking for a power converter for it now. The ATL-1000 is 850Watt, would a 1000 Watt converter work?

Is it 50/60 Hz or just 50 Hz?

yes, but you should get a 1500w unit if you can. When the thermostat clicks on, it can spike the power draw momentarily.
All components of the machine are rated for both 50 and 60hz.

Is the backup battery (inside the bottom of the machine) in working order? It saves your running cycle if the A/C power fails. I don't know the age of your machine, but the battery might be worth checking.

Very few atl1000's out there with batteries. I did not see the OP mention it, but in any case if it does, its most likely dead and needs a new cell, which would cost some change.
