Ive had one of these lenses for some time , is this likely an earlier version of the apo gerogon --(I havent got a retaining ring so ive got to make one to try it properly) --Im hoping for g-claron like properties.

Hello,

the Apo Copygon was introduced by Rodenstock in addition to the Apo Gerogons, it is not a precursor of the Apo Gerogons. The purpose was a further improved even (at high level) performance across the entire field with a slightly reduced picture angle. It is a very good performer, certainly as good as the G-Claron. You will not be disapponted.

Best regards

Joerg

thanks for your reply--sounds like good news --it wont go into a shutter easily but ive just got a sinar copal so thats less of an issue for me .Ive never seen any details of this lens anywhere on line.
