He was a very nice man and was a force for photography in Denver for decades. I enjoyed the time I was able to spend with him, what a great life he had doing what he loved.

I met him a few times in the early '80s when I was a post-doc at the U. It was my first exposure to fine art photography, and it had a profound influence on me. I saw my first Adams prints, and he had an early print of Moonrise and a later print after the negative was intensified. I was impressed that he took the time to show me and tell me about the photographers he represented. He introduced me to Howard Bond prints, and when I told him I was moving to Ann Arbor he put me in touch with Howard. I am still in contract with Howard!
