hello

We have a body shutter release needing adjustment--sluggish to trip shutter mechanism...protocol for adjustment, to adjust closer to lens first? The other side (where mini cable ties in) has two tiny nut locks...have you adjusted these before? Hold one with needle nose pliers, tighten the top with another pliers? Are there tiny spanners to accomplish this?

Thank you

Wouldn't it be easier to just turn the lens in the board a bit? Or use a cable release directly into the shutter?

It's probably going to be more than just adjusting the front, the body shutter release on Crowns and Pacemakers are cable actuated
the cable may be gunked up inside and in need of flushing and dry lubing, the button mech may also need a clean and lube.
See Jo Lommen's site for how to get at the body shutter release mech and what's inside -

thank you all for contributing...

from Lommen:

Apart from that, the release button is connected to an electric circuit to disable the function of firing when not using the build in release button. That means that winding the focal plane shutter does not fire the flash, nor tripping the shutter with the slide selector will activate the flash.

a beginner to Speed Graphic asks: please clarify the last comment from JL...

thank you

It means the slide switch on the right side of the body, turns off the flash circuit when rewinding the FP shutter.

That slide switch controls which shutter works when you push the body release which can operate either shutter.

I know what it does, but describing in words is not easy. Have fun!
