What are some good sources of how-to information for scanning transparencies (4x5 & 6x6 ) and B&W negatives (4x5 & 8x10) ? I've looked thru the first 20 pages of this forum and while many good questions are answered, there really weren't any mentions of books or websites that have a complete current datadump or overview on the subject.

I'm just starting with the basics and moving into (relatively) higher quality flat bed scanning. I'm not interested in going off the deep end with minutiae, but just looking for sound basic information. I'm using a cheapo HP G4050 scanner (the Epson V750 is not worth the money to me) mainly for proofing but also for some historical work on old negatives. I haven't fully embraced the all-digital world as of yet. My real love is wet darkroom work.

Or if this has been covered before, just point me.

Thanks

John

If you are running Vuescan, get the Vuescan Bible (http://www.amazon.com/The-VueScan-Bible-Everything-Scanning/dp/1933952695) from Sascha Steinhoff.
