Interesting old image. Does anyone recognize the camera? Looks to be in the 16x20 to 20x24 range.

Looks like a 20x24. If I remember, that is a photo of William Henry Jackson.

It looks like a Mammoth Plate camera - I saw one in a show of Darius Kinnsey's photography in Washington State at the Frye Art Museum a number of years ago.

WH Jackson was going to be my guess too, in which case it's probably 20x24. He's kind of a hero to me, lugging around that size wet plate in the Colorado high country.

Karl is correct it was 18x22. He used a E.&HT Anthony Klauber Camera which was only manufactured in 14x17 & 18 x22. It could be configured as a Portrait camera was well as a field camera w/ an additional bellows & mid standard. Here's a link to some info & photos of the camera.http://piercevaubel.com/cam/anthony/klauber.htm
This is a Klauber in the 14x17 size.
