Hi Bill

Some of my work is on my website at www.landscapesofwales.co.uk. (http://www.landscapesofwales.co.uk) Mind you, it's due to be updated before xmas, so most of the work, although ongoing, is 12 months old.

I have some work up at http://www.echonyc.com/~goldfarb/photo (http://www.echonyc.com/~goldfarb/photo) in a variety of formats from 35mm to 8x10".

http://www.echonyc.com/~goldfarb/halloween (http://www.echonyc.com/~goldfarb/halloween) contains some handheld 4x5" Weegee-style photos from the most recent Halloween parade in New York City.

Lots of galleries at www.dannyburk.com - some older work is MF, but almost everything in the past two years is 4x5 or 617.

William,

I just posted a travelogue from my most recent trip to Ireland. It includes about 30 'working images' from the trip; not final images, but I think the scans from the negatives show some promise.

The travelogue can be viewed at:

www.mutmansky.com/galleries/ire_log1.html (http://www.mutmansky.com/galleries/ire_log1.html" target="_blank)

From there, you can look around the rest of the site at other work I have posted.

Hi there!

I've just started creating LF photos so there are only a few images on my website that were taken with my new camera but now that the long winter nights are approaching I'll have the perfect excuse to add more on soon...

"if nothing else, this thread confirmed that there is an increadibly talented group of individuals on photo.net. "

But what about us? What do you think of the photographers who avoid photo.net? :)

Graeme - Lovely design ! Are those rocks really blue ? I ask, because I have been playing around with some Portra, and find it something of a challenge to get all the colors right.

Gah, I feel drastically outclassed, but...

http://www.eighteenpercent.com"]>http://www.eighteenpercent.com (http://www.eighteenpercent.com"[url=)[/url]

I hate scanning negs, but I hate scanning prints even more. There hasn't been a new image added in, I think, over a year, since I started shooting 8x10.

Graeme Hird
10-Nov-2004, 15:40
Ken, yes the rocks really do have a blue tinge about them. I'm shooting Velvia and occasionally Provia and I don't have too many problems getting the colours close to the tranny.

What program are you using to drive your scanner? I suggest using Vuescan: great value and it gives you control of the scanner. Try downloading the trial version and following the "Advanced Workflow". That should let you get the colours correct from your Portra because it takes the film base colour into account when it makes your file.

Cheers,

Ken Lee

Actually, I'm a long-time VueScan user. Even so, I find it challenging to work with color film. Perhaps I'd be well advised to shoot a grey card along with each shot.

Graeme Hird
10-Nov-2004, 17:54
Perhaps you might try using tranny film for a while. I don't know the answer since I don't use colour negs in LF - never been able to get the colours I want .... ;-)
