My large format friends... I wanted to let you know one of our fellow travelers has passed. Davidjohn Lotto from Sacramento, CA succumbed today after battling brain cancer for the last few years. He wasn't very active on FB or the internet, but you can see some of his beautiful work here (http://www.davidjohnlotto.com/). Rest in peace old friend...

Every single image that David created looks to be a work of art. Fantastic portfolio, and as someone has already said is an incredible legacy to leave behind.

Very inspiring work.

RIP.

I discovered his work a few months ago while researching the use of washi for platinum prints. I sent him an email but got no response. Little did I know. May he rest in peace.

Thanks, Kerik.
I'm not a fan of "soft-focus," but this work is absolutely beautiful. Makes me wonder what will happen to one's work after they are gone.

I was not aware of his work - thanks so much for sharing.

His "bio" and "about" statements conclude with "more will be revealed"... < sigh >

So sorry to hear this ... I got to meet David at a couple of dinners in Sacramento and visited one of his shooting locations in an abandoned church here.

Inspiring. talented, and exceptionally nice guy.

It was good to take another slow look at his portfolio on his website and to just reflect.

He was a good guy, that I had nice dealings with a few times.
