Best Book on VC Printing

I have a Saunders VCCE 4x5 enlarger, and I am getting back into B&W photography after 29 years. (Now a retired empty nester.) Since so many things have changed in that period, I am in search of a book on VC printing. Your recommendations, specifically concerning View Camera's 'Tech Series III: Variable Contrast Printing' ($40) are much appreciated! Thanks!!

Lots out there on VC printing,but i first advise you to reread Ansel Adams the Print,(book 3). it worked for me to reread it 20 years after i read it in photography school. seems like age enhances the teachings in that book.Now in my mid 40 s it makes much more sense,could be that i have my own darkroom now,or just that i dont drink nearly as much as i did in collage,or it could just be me,, just a thought

Way beyond monochrome is a very good book on printing in general, and split grade in particular. Another really good book on the subject is "Larry Bartlett's Black and White Photographic Printing Workshop", which is extremely good in general.
