Hello All,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I've been a happy Epson V700 owner and mostly happy with my scans.
Recently discovered possibly working a Creo IQSmart scanner with, no cables and no machine to control it!

A quick bit of googled thowed up that I need oxygen scan. I've only got a mac pro running snow leopard. Apparantly this requires oxygen scan version 2.6.4 or 2.6.3 to make the scanner run. But i cannot find either anywhere!!

Of course it's not critical but being able to scan my 4x5 negs would be a major boon for printing large and a possble sho

Any help or pointers to a copy would be much appricated.

give http://www.genesis-equipment.com a try. I just bought my Eversmart Pro II from them, and have been happy with the interaction so far.

Missed the auction! Shame.

I'll give Genesis a go later today.

Just checked ebay! There is another copy of Oxygen 2.6.3 available but looking at CPS (http://www.cpsnet.co.uk/Portals/0/pdfs/IQS_CONFIGURATOR.pdf) I'm going to need 2.6.4 for my Snow Leopard MacPro. Could possibly investigate installing an older OS but not keen to fiddle to much with my only and main machine.

Had no idea it was so expensive to get an old scanner working. Might just stick to using my v700!

ScannerFan or whomever your name is,

Which IQSmart are you looking at ? In the IQ line, there were 3 scanners: IQ1, IQ2, or IQ3

If its within the Eversmart class, it would be the Supreme II.

I personally am running my Eversmart Pro II on Version 2.6.3 Eversmart Software.

These scanners are pretty slow, and it is generally considered good practice to dedicate a separate computer for scanning.

Cheers for all the feedback.

I didn't get a reply from Genesis regarding software. So i've purchased a copy via eBay fingers crossed!

Yes, I understand good practice would be a separate machine but space and money constraints limit me at this moment.

I believe the machine is an IQ 1 if thats of any use.

I'll get back once I have installed the scanner.......

Hey All, So held out and found a copy of 2.6.4 on eBay. So no need for me to set up an older OSX partition.
But it's now been bought to my attention that I might need a calibration sheet? I can only find on place selling online and look expensive! Is is something I will need regularly or something I might be able to borrow for the setup? Some one in London must have one!

Hey All,

Just thought I would pass on that I have successfully got my IQSmart running with oXYgen 2.6.4 on and G4 PowerMac. Was a bit hassle finding all the bits but the quality of the scans really blow my V700 away. I finally found the software via eBay and a copy of the calibration sheet too.

Will post some scans really soon.
