Printing rolling out too much paper before printing

Hi I need help, my Epson 9600 printer is rolling out too much paper before printing or it doesnt print at all, just keeps rolling and rolling out paper, what could be the problem?

Is this a new problem? Have you checked the Page Size setting? I've had something like that happen when I messed up setting the length of the page when using roll paper on my 4880.

I believe it is a firmware problem. A friend of mine has had the problem in the past with several large Epson printers.
