Imagine my surprise when I got my new Chamonix 45F1 to find that the base plate has both a 1/4" and 3/8" hole. So my old plate for the Chamonix 45N2 (two 1/4" holes) a RRS B35 http://reallyrightstuff.com/ProductDesc.aspx?code=B35 no longer fits. Hunting around I found this plate for video cameras from Kessler that is also Arca Swiss compatible, the Kessler Kwik SHORT Camera Plate (3/8"-16): http://www.kesslercrane.com/product-p/kwik_short_plate_te.htm

Fingers crossed it will fit.

?
my 45n2 has one 1/4 and one 3/8" hole just like my n-1 had. 3/8" to 1/4" bushings are readily available so no need for a new plate.

3/8" and 1/4" holes are provided to enable you to use different tripods without having to use a bushing. You can use just one of the bolts on your plate and the F1 will be held quite firmly IMO.

Thanks Vinny and John - the bushing idea is a great one - typically I like to have a quick release plate to make thinks easier and a nice wide one that distributes the weight well. Looks like I'll be off to buy a bushing today!

This is the new Kwik plate part info: https://kesslercrane.com/products/kwik-short-camera-plate-3-8-16-mg1017 The old URL link does not work. Amazon has it for cheaper.
