It seems that only the smallest tanks are compatible
I have multiples of the 2800-system incl. testtank 2820 to develop 70mm (be it 2517 reel or 2502-three-reel-solution)

could you pls provide me these dimensions of your 2500-tanks:
1. outside heigth of the drum without top.
2. height of central column.
all three drums

2521723
2551/53
2561/63
2521/23 +2560

maybe i can use the one or the other printdrums for film anyway when i can find the needed central-column-elements. maybe not since reels could wobble during rotation if the do not fit. on one of my drum its not high enough to fit into the top. chemicals will not find the way through the tunnel.

When i have all data i will provide dimensions of my 2800-drums. e.g. one of my 2800-drums has a base/socket. very clever.

You can use 25xx reels in the 28xx paper drums without any problems. You can even extend a 25xx drum with a 28xx extension, or the other way around. The height of the drum + extension fits one of the combinations of the three available centre column parts.

The only thing you'll notice is that reels have a slightly tighter fit in the 28xx tanks.

They are all exactly the same.

Multitank 6 - 2560 = 2830
Multitank 2 - 2520 = 2820

Multitank 8 (2520+2560) = 2840 (2820 + 2870)

In any case - all the modules, lids and tanks are exactly the same - the only exception being the Multitank 5 (2550) which has a smooth interior surface.
