Hello LF friends!

I am working on the pre-production for a commercial shoot coming up and I would like to find a place where I might be able to rent a vintage looking backdrop in the Los Angeles area. I will be doing 8x10 wet-plate portraits for a group of actors as promotion for the production of an Oscar Wilde play, The Ideal Husband. I would love to find something that looks like its from the time period between 1900-1920. I'm thinking something gardenish or outdoorsey if that makes any sense. We will be shooting outdoors on the campus of a university here with people observing so that is why I need a backdrop to capture what we're looking for. Any idea where to begin?

Google is your friend, with you being in L.A. there should be prop rental houses in abundance or at least one mega prop rental facility.

It would be interesting to see how many threads with questions have the second post be about Google. Of course. And I have. Thank you.

As this is a place with so many people with so much knowledge and experience I am hoping that there is someone with direct experience with something like this so I don't have to do my search blind and may actually come up with answers that I hadn't even considered. Google is great, but it can't think. Yet.

Try Schmidlii. Make sure you select Los Angeles in the location check box.

Modern props. Get ahold of a LA 411 guide. It'll likely require insurance.

Why not ask the play's set designer to make something, or just shoot on the stage's set?
