View Full Version : Kodak 2d Thread of Knob?
I've made a replacement brass knob for my kodak 2d 5x7, but I can't figure out what the thread might be.
The knob is for the underneath of the rear swing, but the thread seems to be the same as another knob that removes fully.
Does anyone know what the thread may be?
Thanks
Bruce

Here's a link to Richard Ritter's site, wear he lists 2D knobs as having an odd thread size. I also recall reading somewhere that Richard had custom taps and dies made for the threads on 2D's. Anyway you might contact Richard and as he is very knowledgable in this area and can supply knobs if you are unable to thread yours. He just restored an camera for me including making a couple of new knobs and did a great job.

It could be 10-30 or 10-32 depending on the camera vintage.
Thanks, I'll send Richard Ritter an email and get 1 ordered.

He repaired my 2D: replaced the bellows, freed some movements, CLA'd, created a Technika lens board adapter and provided several brass parts... perfecto !

I had a 8x10 2D and it fit a standard sized threaded knob. I guess the thread size must be different depending on the date of manufacture.
