I have a CPA/CPP JOBO processor that's not working. Fuse seems to be OK but unit does not turn on. Any suggestions for JOBO repair in NYC area (prefer not to ship it)? Maybe someone with expertise in repairing electric appliances? Thanks for any thoughts/suggestions.

This is the only one I know of -- Boston area I believe. You might want to talk to them -- a DIY repair may be possible.

His name escapes me, but he's a member of this forum and a member of APUG as well.
You might find him on APUG in the advertiser's forum.

Thanks Rolfe, I'll check him out. Afraid DIY is out of the question in view of my complete lack of mechanical ability.

Don,

The first thing to check is the main thermal protection overload fuse reset button.
In many cases you will need to open the housing to get at it, if it is not clearly accessible otherwise (we are working on a short video on how to find it).
For now - it is a white dot, located between the upper and lower halvs of the main control unit, close to where the main power cords exist the machine.
You can use a pen or small screwdriver to push it in and reset it. You might not hear or feel a change. Test the machine again.

If this is not the issue - the machine will need to be sent in. In this case, you only need to send in the main control unit and not the entire machine.
Feel free to contact me if you are unable to locate the reset button, or if you want to send your unit in.

Good luck!

I can vouch for the folks at CatLABS. I needed parts to convert an early CPP to cog drive and advice on my JOBO lift. Parts were reasonable and the advice freely given
