This is historical Saint Francis Hospital in Beech Grove Indiana.. In this hospital in 1930 late actor Steve Mcqueen (Terrence Steven Mcqueen) was born. This building is one of the oldest buildings standing in this small town on the southeast side of Indianapolis. This building may be torn down in the near future which will be a sad day for our history..91085910869108791088This is the old delivery room where late actor Steve Mcqueen was born

Sorry I missed this, Steve. I lived in Wanamaker when I was growing up - had several surgeries at St. Francis. How'd you get access to shoot LF there?

Steve, every one of those leans to the right. Is your level off on the camera?

Kirk, thank you for pointing that out on some of those I was off center which I think lends to that but not all and I do notice a slight tilt..

Yep, I have seen lots and lots of hospitals close locally. One historically important hospital, Homer G. Phillips Hospital, once one of the only hospitals in the country offering internships and residencies to black doctors, was turned into a retirement community - a good thing, because this hospital really was the jewel in the crown, a source of great pride, of the St. Louis African American community during the bad old days of Jim Crow.
